This 3PlaneSoft-developed application will come in handy this Christmas. After you decorate your lawn, your porch, and your whole house, why not take the time to decorate your computer. You can do so by using a Christmas-themed screensaver – 3PlaneSoft’s Fireside Christmas 3D Screensaver is such a screensaver.

Fireside Christmas 3D Screensaver displays a fireplace, with burning wood inside. On top of the fireplace you will notice that several gift socks have been hung up. You will also notice a lit candle, and some other Christmas decorations. One decoration is a clock that features Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus – the clock displays the actual time. The whole Fireside Christmas 3D Screensaver is very similar to another 3PlaneSoft-developed application – Fireplace 3D Screensaver and Animated Wallpaper. The main difference is that the later lacks the Christmas decorations. Also, the later is also an animated wallpaper.

While Fireside Christmas 3D Screensaver is up and running, you will hear the crackling of the firewood. If this bothers you, you can simply press the M keyboard and all the sounds will be muted. From the Settings window you can disable sounds altogether. From the same Settings window you can create a playlist with your own songs. This is great if you have, say, a collection of Christmas carols.

Installation – at the time of writing this, support is provided for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit editions). During the installation process you can choose between these languages: English, German, French and Russian.

During the installation process you are asked to install the 3Planesoft Screensaver Manager. This manager provides information about your currently installed 3PlaneSoft screensaver and about other screensaver 3PlaneSoft has to offer. The manager allows you to access the settings of all the 3PlaneSoft screensavers installed on your system. It also comes with a feature to automatically change the screensaver after a specific amount of time, or to display a different screensaver each time the computer goes idle. This manager is quite useful if you have more than one 3PlaneSoft screensaver.

Limitations – a nag screen will appear after 90 seconds when using the trial version. To get rid of this nag screen you have to purchase a license.
